Accurate

Almost too accurate. I thought I was all over the place then I used this while listening to the radio. All non-drum machine music have tiny deviations in tempo. I wish it also had a metronome with goals for gigging. That would make this app A+++. Still rad.

Nice

Nice enough on the ipad, but VERY disappointed it did not load to my iphone, especially for $3.99!

An Absolute must have...

If you are a drummer this is a no brainer. I was skeptical at first, but after testing on a tune in 7/4 I was playing with a group, I was sold. Pro drummer, covering multiple genres, and this app is my best friend. Great practice tool, excellent gigging tool...this lets the pocket breathe to your personal feel. Sure a metronome is a great static representation of the time, but this to me personally is a greater tool, letting you know how much your time alters throughout a tune. Very accurate. My only request ( a crazy one) to let the app drive a metronome through something like audiobus, at a user chosen interval( metronome bpm adjusts over a set time or number of bars) to allow the click to be fed to others.

Holy Cow

I cannot believe how good this works. I had looked at the clip-on hardware speed meters, but, just never wanted to spend the bucks for those. I play in a few different bands... an oribinal and two covers. This solution is exactly what I needed. Im shocked at how well it works. I can set my phone on a chair nearby my set or on a spare drum. Awesome!

Wow!

I was nervous spending this much money on an app , but glad I did! Put this in front of my drummer and he LOVED it, and I loved him pushing us to the correct tempo all night. This will get used every gig from now on!

Awesome !!

I love it !!! The guitar player says" man , we are rushing " , x on the drums , you %$@&. And I show him the last song he complained about thru the live bpm graph and everything gets really quiet :)

Close But Not Perfect

This is a good app to have if you need to know the approximate BPM. I sequence music and work with Music Software & Drum Machines But this app is not spot on but close Enough to get the BPM. Very helpful when listening to mp3, etc To get a Quick BPM count idea Instead of having to count with a pocket watch or a tapping finger app ( Buy it ) Still a Great Tool To Have Works with the iPods built in microphone, great little feature

Like it

Im trying to locate songs in my library recorded with a click to play along with. This app rocks. Just turn it on for a few seconds, plug the detected BPM in my metronome to test against the suspect tune and presto I have the verdict. Much less time consuming than endless metronome tapping and second guessing rush/drag tempo discrepancies. Only deficiency is failure to detect 3/4 or 6/8 time correctly. LiveBPM does try but winds up floating 4 beat rhthym over the 3/4 which results in some interesting Huapangoesque cross-rhthyms; but useless as a BPM measurement. Add that feature and an onboard metronome to next update please.

Works Perfectly

I do a lot of remixes and need to detect the BPM of the songs I get. I used to tap tap tap along using some other apps but this one you just let it listen and it gives you the BPM. It works really well too. I’ve had it detect BPM through Apple Earbuds and off television. Good job!

This is the real deal -- for DJ beat matching

I tried a bunch of bpm detector apps because I am trying to match beats between electro and rap records. None of them worked properly -- except this one. It works like a champ -- quick, clear and accurate. Worth the money for sure!

Great performance tool

I keep this mounted to stay on tempo during gigs and the band leader will check it out and call out a tempo change if he feels it. It works great and the one thing that would make it perfect is being able to set a starting tempo.

Bring on the GodFather

Very satisfied as the computations are accurate. First tests were with music having strong down/up beat which matched lyrics. This was the easy test and expected to be right. Next was James Brown with a slow lyric tempo but faster percussion. Slider adjustment had to be used but after this adjustment Try Me registered dead on. Im a Westie (Swing dancer) and favor songs with slow tempo lyrics with odd percussion that might trick the ear. Happy to come upon this tool!

Crap!!!!

Crap. I hope to get my money back!

Excellent app!

Great learning tool. Only suggestion: have an option to play along to roadmaps of charts (could be open-source) so it could tell you where your time was inconsistent. (i.e. rushed at bridge, hits, etc)

Wow! Exactly what Ive been looking for!

Ive been looking for a good BPM detection app for years, how has this gem been out since 2012 and never shown up on my App Store searches? Im a DJ with a large vinyl collection, and a lot of my records are not labeled with BPM due to how tedious a process it is; this app is exactly what I need! While some may take issue that it is not 100% accurate down to the 100th, it is more than enough for my purposes and–by a wide margin–the best app Ive found to do the job. More than worth the price. I see it hasnt been updated since 2013, I hope the developer didnt abandon it and will eventually add more optimization and features!
